Welcome

International Transgender Day of Visibility (TDoV) is an annual event to raise awareness of the descrimination faced by transgender-umbrella people and highlight the contributions they make to society.

Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDoR) is an annual observance held worldwide to honor and memorialize trans+ people whose lives have been lost to anti-transgender violence, hate crimes, and transphobia.

Following the huge success of TDoV Merseyside in 2026, which delivered workshops, performances, panel talks and a market, we’re organising a gathering for Trans Day of Remembrance on 15th November, and planning a 3-day TDoV event for 26-28 March 2027.

Trans Day of Remembrance 2026

Join us for a gathering to mark Trans Day of Remembrance 2026 on Sunday 15th November 2026, 12-3pm at the Museum of Liverpool.

All are welcome, allies too, for this time of reflection and honouring. We will have a vigil, pre arranged speakers and some performances from local trans+ artists. We’ll have some candles and a book of remembrance and hope available too for folk to sign. There will also be some light refreshments.

Step free access, induction loop, visual descriptions from speakers and printed copies of spoken content will be available. We have prepared an access document here . Please contact us if you have access needs and we’ll do our best.

Masks encouraged, please don’t attend if you have the symptoms of any viral/contagious airborne condition. An Air Purifier (HEPA) will be in operation.

Thanks to National Museums Liverpool and Spirit Level for donating funds which have made this event possible and performers to be paid.

This event is being organised by Safe Space Merseyside in collaboration with people from our local trans+ community.

Thank you to @jeneenlilith for this beautiful poster.
